Cardiff, San Diego In-Home Engagement Session

One of my core beliefs in life is that through friendship, art thrives. Over the years as a wedding photographer, I’ve learned the greatest gift my couples can give me is vulnerability, and in return I can capture their truest selves. This idea was so perfectly embodied last January when I took engagement photos for my best friend and her fiance, Sydney and Dan. We spent a full day capturing a glimpse into their lives living by the sea in Cardiff, San Diego. They have been together for ten years, and share a level of ease and intimacy that can only be built through time. In the morning, we got creative with a backdrop we set up, and then enjoyed coffee as dappled light danced through the apartment windows. In the evening, we headed down to the beach and ran around as the sun set in golden hues.
