Gloucester, Massachusetts Engagement Session

I first met Alyssa + Matt three years ago when I was living in Boston. They began as clients, yet quickly became good friends of mine. Over the years, we’ve shared many drinks + many laughs. Last summer, Matt proposed to Alyssa on the shores of Cape Cod + asked me to document the moment. I hid in plain sight, and captured the joyous occasion, which was followed by a delicious seafood dinner. For their engagement session, we again found ourselves by the sea. One of the final summery days in September, we met up for a day-long adventure. We began in their condo, which they moved into only a few weeks before the world locked down. It was so special to document Lyss + Matt in the space they so quickly had to make a home. We listened to Leon Bridges + caught up, having not seen each other in many months. Afterward, we made our way to Wingaersheek Beach, a hidden gem in Gloucester, MA. You could feel the change of seasons in the air–the summer sun warming our shoulders, yet the fall wind sending chills down our spines. We frolicked in the still water, drank wine, and climbed across the gigantic rocks. It was the kind of night you’re nostalgic for before it even ends–a glimmer of happiness in these otherwise rocky times. Thank you Alyssa + Matt for continuously being so supportive of my business. I can’t wait to finally photograph you two saying “I do” in a little less than a year.
