NYC Winter Marriage Bureau Wedding

May 18, 2020

When Tim and Una first began dating, they went on a spontaneous adventure to NYC over New Years. Last December, they chose to say “I Do” on December 31st, bringing their love full circle. The morning of their City Hall elopement, the pair got ready at The Evelyn in the Flat Iron neighborhood. Una surprised Tim with the most badass bridal suit custom designed by Katrina Tuttle. I love that Una chose to wear something different, something uniquely her. After taking old school-style photos in the hotel lobby, we hopped in a taxi downtown and headed to the Marriage Bureau. We took our seats on the green couches and waited for their number to be called. Una remarked on how beautiful it was that they got to share their day with so many other people making the same lifelong commitment to one another. It was a moving sentiment–one that encompasses Una’s wise and selfless aura.

After they made it official at City Hall, we took photos around the West Village in the soft afternoon light. The streets were nearly empty as the city prepared for the New Year’s festivities that would commence in a few short hours. I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate the turn of the decade.
