Erin and Eddie’s wedding perfectly encapsulated all the best things about New York City. Brunch from Zabar’s, dinner at The Odeon, and a night on the town that seems to last forever.
On a chilly January morning, friends and family gathered at Eddie’s childhood home on the UWS for an intimate ceremony. They cried and laughed as the officiant (Eddie’s nephew and close friend) recounted their love story–friends turned lovers after years of will they, won’t they. After smashing the glass, everyone toasted champagne and hugged each other with tears in their eyes. How special to witness the joining of Erin and Eddie in a living room that has served as the backdrop for decades of memories. Guests dined on the most beautiful spread of bagels and lox, before retreating to their homes and hotels to rest up for an exciting evening.
Later on, after naps and outfit changes, it was time for dinner at The Odeon. Erin and Eddie gave a toast, thanking everyone for joining them as they entered the next chapter. What followed: steak frites, dirty martinis, shrimp cocktails, profiteroles. The most delicious wedding meal imaginable (one of my personal favorites, for sure). Joy emanated from every corner of the room–it was truly such a privilege to photograph.
When all was said and one, it was time for dancing. Erin and Eddie revisited one of their favorite hang-outs from early in their friendship, The Boom Boom Room. A sparkly, gold venue with views of the city that seem to go on forever. Tequila shots and dancing, big hugs and barefoot twirls. The night seemed to never end, just as all marvelous NYC days go.
