Tuscany, Italy Wedding at Casale del Marchese

October 1, 2020

Ali is from California, and Dirk is from Germany. The pair met on the very first day of class while studying abroad in Dublin. They fell in love exploring the world together, so it only made sense to tie the knot in a place as breathtaking as Il Casale del Marchese.

Every little detail of the wedding, from the florals to the hand-drawn invitations by Dirk’s brother, was stunning. One of my favorite memories from the day was the ceremony, which took place under a trellis of hanging flowers. With speeches by members of both families, it represented the joining of Ali + Dirk’s cultures. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as the two laughed and cried reading their vows to one another!!

After a delicious three course meal, the reception opened up into one big party. The Italian wine kept flowing, and smiles beamed across everyone’s faces. I think all of the guests would agree with me when I say that the musician with a glow-in-the-dark saxophone was a definite game-changer! By the end of the night, I put my camera down and danced the night away.

When I first began my photography business, it was to fund my passion for travel. To be able to combine the two and see everything come full circle is a feeling unlike any other. Thank you Ali + Dirk for choosing me to tell your story! And a very special thank you to my best friend and incredible second-shooter, Sydney Noelle.
