Elin is from Sweden + Karl is from Long Island. They had plans to bring their families together for their wedding in June, but due to the pandemic they were forced to call it off. It was a challenging truth to accept, but they did it with grace. Instead, they chose to marry on June 6th at Karl’s childhood home in the Hamptons. Karl’s grandfather purchased the house on the sea 64 years ago and generations of his family have grown old together there. The celebration was intimate and emotional–their ten closest sitting around the arbor with teary eyes. They zoomed their vows to loved ones in Scandinavia and across the US. A toast was made on Zoom after they officially said “I do.” At the end of the evening, as the sunset in technicolor golden hues, E + K shared their first dance to “Wild Love” by James Bay. As I sat there taking it all in, I was reminded of how powerful love is. Despite the world’s circumstances, the ties people have to one another have only grown stronger.
